Zyta at an educational animal stand
Meet Zyta

Animal nerd, educator and lifelong keeper.

Zyta's fascination with unusual animals began while growing up in Cyprus and followed her to the UK. By nine, she was already caring for exotic pets — beginning with a stick insect called Frank.

She later studied animal care at college and Zoology at university, alongside practical work in areas including zookeeping, aquatics and specialist reptile care. In 2023 she moved into education and brought those two worlds together through Zyta's Creatures.

Meet some of the team

Many of the animals have their own rehoming stories and very definite personalities.

Hex the royal python

Hex

Royal python. Calm, steady and particularly good at helping nervous visitors see snakes differently.

Littlefoot the bearded dragon

Littlefoot

Bearded dragon. Rehomed as a youngster and now a dramatic, food-motivated member of the team.

Billie the dwarf Hermann's tortoise

Billie

Dwarf Hermann's tortoise. Inquisitive, determined and more interested in going through an obstacle than around it.
